Amongst the eight who were shot dead on December 7 were three kids aged between 14 & 15, clearly these were people who were nowhere near voting age for anyone to even think for a second that, they belonged to any political party for which reason they can be said to have attempted anything that was a threat to the electoral process or personnels.
These were kids who clearly went there to witness an exercise that ordinary Ghanaians of the ages of 18yrs and above took part in. An exercise that anyone and everyone has the right to be a witness to, especially they the kids who need to watch and learn how it is done in order to be informed and educated on such a civic process for the sake of their tomorrow.
But what was the case? It has emerged that, these kids died at the bullet of the very ones claimed to have sworn to protect and defend the ordinary citizens, of which these kids must be topmost priority to them. Days turned into weeks and weeks have turned into a month and yet the silence is excruciatingly loud from all who project themselves as the champions of human right advocacy and godly values, not to even talk of state leadership.
Meanwhile, a grown well built man who was killed also by service men of similar fashion far in another man’s land, evoked global provocation that even state institutions in this same country held vigils and funeral ceremonies filled with dignitaries for him. Meanwhile the fate of the three missing Takoradi girls only appears to be as ghost as the assumptions on them.
To add salt and chilly to the deep wound, a member of parliament meant to represent the people, stood before the world to describe these young ones as criminals.
Well, I just want to assure that MP, the state leadership, so called the clergy, opinion leaders and so called human right activists that, indeed true and pure justice will be served for those faithful departed regardless, by that Just force that needs no permission from any mortal authority to do so, but they should not lose memory of the fact that, they had the opportunity to do so. May God continue to bless our homeland Ghana.
