Dear Mr. President,
I am shocked you have lift the ban on restriction. I respectfully disagree with you on this.
If indeed we are being driven by science and data and not politics and propaganda, then I think the data we have now doesn’t support your decision to lift the ban on movement.
If you locked Greater Accra, Greater Kumasi and the Kasoa when we have less than 50 cases, how do you explained a lifting when we have 1042 cases?
How come you are lifting a restriction across board instead of adding the Eastern Region, Volta Region and possibly the Northern and the Upper West Region to the already three lockdown regions ie:Greater Accra, Greater Kumasi and Kasoa?
I am totally at a lost Sir.
Sir, how do expect the people in the Greater Accra Region to move around when we have 685 cases?
How is it possible to allow the people in the Ashanti and the Eastern Region to move about freely when they have 59 and 51 cases respectively?
Mr. Presdent, it is a fact that most Ghanaians that have the virus or get infected doesn’t show any symptoms at all. That’s makes it extremely dangerous in terms of transmitting…and a decision to lift restrictions on movement with these worrying information—makes me wonder and scared!
Mr. President, according to the WHO, any government that wants to start lifting restrictions, must first meet six conditions:
1. Disease transmission is under control
2. Health systems are able to “detect, test, isolate and treat every case and trace every contact”
3. Hot spot risks are minimized in vulnerable places, such as nursing homes
4. Schools, workplaces and other essential places have established preventive measures
5. The risk of importing new cases “can be managed”
6. Communities are fully educated, engaged and empowered to live under a new normal
Sir, which of these guidelines can we confidently say we have met effectively?
I disagree with your decision but I pray it ends well Sir.
Sir, how do we lift a ban on movements with these data! Where is the science in this decision, Sir?
