At least 37 Ghanaians have died from Cerebrospinal Meningitis (CSM) with 223 cases confirmed in Ghana, local officials have said.
Parliament Majority Leader Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu said that 33 of the deaths have occurred in Wa, the capital of the Upper-West region over the last two months, urging health officials to save the situation.
As of the end of March, the Savannah Region had also recorded four deaths from nine confirmed cases of CSM.
On Tuesday, the Member of Parliament for Wa Central Rasheed Pelpuo wrote an SOS letter to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, urging him to expedite action over the devastating CSM infection in the region.
